Today is May 1, 2021. Twenty-five weeks from today is Half Ironman 70.3 North Carolina. In this blog I am chronicling my training journey to this race. I am at the top of the 70 to 74 age group. Furthermore, for a lot of reasons, I have be self-coached for the 31 years of being a triathlete. Unfortunately, I have been significantly injured of the past four triathlons for which I registered. The definition of insanity is the keep on doing the same thing while expecting a different result. Ultimately, the purpose of the blog make a better version of myself as a triathlete and endurance athlete by documenting things that work and do not work for me. For the next twelve weeks I will do mostly zone 2 training and also incorporate yoga and strength work.. Losing 20 pounds is also a top priority. Then beginning Monday, July 26, I will begin race specific zone 4-5 training.
